Pearls in suspension and a weightless double C. A tweed that plays with the seasons and a 3D quilting. Plays of materials and bright two-tone combinations. Over the course of these playful details and technical innovations, CHANEL revisits its codes bringing a daring and unprecedented transparency to its Summer 2020 eyewear collection.
Two pairs of sunglasses reinterpret the quilting in a transparent version. Contrasting with the white, black or tortoiseshell front, their wide temples come in crystal white, beige or smoky grey acetate. On both the temples, the stitches of diamond quilting are enhanced with a hand- sewn effect in relief. At the hinge of the frame, the letters of CHANEL have been marked by laser in a gradation of colours. These glasses adopt an XXL shield or a graphic rectangle shape. For the optical version, the quilting blends into the transparent acetate of the temples on the butterfly and oval designs.
With a striking purity and lightness, a butterfly frame and a new rectangular cat eye offer another vision of transparency, through their temples highlighted in black, tortoiseshell, navy blue or burgundy acetate. The double C signature seems to float on these ultra-comfortable sunglasses.
Three pairs of sunglasses with oval, pilot and square shapes complete this collection. Acetate or metal frames encircle mirrored or glitter lenses. Certain versions are embellished with a removable faux pearl necklace attached to the temples. No less than 86 grey or white glass beads dipped in resin compose this jewel, which can be worn at will. This necklace also punctuates a pair of square opticals, while other shapes are adorned with a discreet double C at the corner of the eye.
Inseparable from the allure of CHANEL, pearls return once more as a duo on the temples of the oval and rectangular sunglasses that are both elegant and essential.
In this new collection, a summery capsule inspired by the colours of the 2019/20 Cruise collection created by Virginie Viard, reinterprets the two-tone on three designs. Five colour duos adorn the acetate with a lacquered finish while a bright white double C signs the temples.
Inspired by the silhouettes of the Spring-Summer 2020 Ready-to-Wear collection imagined by Virginie Viard, tweed also makes an appearance in this eyewear collection and swathes the front of an oversized graphic and urban shield. On the wide acetate temples, the double C is displayed like a patch.
